From New York to New York

Queen Mary 2 is Cunard’s most magnificent ocean liner and the flagship of the fleet.

Modern features combined with traditional and elegant décor
reminiscent of the golden age of cruising helps create an
unforgettable journey particularly when sailing past the Statue of
Liberty into New York. We particularly like the excellent Queens
Grill accommodation which offers additional space and access to the
exclusive Queens Grill restaurant, along with dedicated lounges and
deck areas.

New York

The Big Apple is one of the world's most iconic, cosmopolitan cities, a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. From the lofty heights of the Manhattan skyscrapers to the hipster hangouts of resurgent Brooklyn, New York City buzzes with energy and excitement, and there's never been a better time to visit. Cultural highlights include the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts and the theatres of Broadway, and the culinary scene is arguably the most exciting in the US, with an ever-changing smorgasbord of innovative restaurants, pop-ups and fashionable street food trucks.

Memorii Tip: Our tip Head to the ‘Top of the Rock’ at the Rockefeller Centre, for views rivalling those at from the observation platform of the Empire State Building, but without the crowds.

Southampton

Southampton is the UK’s leading port. Bustling modern cruise terminals, as well as wharfs and commercial harbours, line the waterfront, whilst the city itself is a fascinating mix of ancient and modern, with a picturesque old town, the original city walls still standing, and super-modern shopping centres and office complexes

Hamburg

Known locally as ‘the gateway to the world’, the port of Hamburg has a rich maritime history. Of course the city has its seedy side, as characterised by the old red light district around the Reeperbahn, but it’s also a vibrant, progressive city with some excellent museums, galleries and theatres.

Ålesund

When Ålesund was destroyed by fire in 1904, the German Kaiser Wilhelm II agreed to foot the bill to rebuild it. The result was the stunning Art Nouveau architecture that you see today, which blends elements of the German 'Jugendstil' with Viking flourishes.

Olden

Olden is a lovely little village surrounded by green meadows and rippling mountain scenery, at the mouth of the Oldeelva river. The most popular excursion is a trip to the nearby Briksdalsbreen, an arm of the vast Jostedalsbreen glacier.

Skjolden

Skjolden sits at the head of the Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway and the second longest in the world. This tiny village is a slice of authentic Norway, with little in the way of souvenir shops; the main attraction is the beautiful, unspoilt mountain scenery.

Sognefjord

The Sognefjord is the largest fjord in Norway and the second longest in the world, stretching for 127 miles from the ocean to the little village of Skjolden. The surrounding mountains are popular with hikers, and there are many smaller fjords that branch off, some with stunning emerald green glacial waters.

Stavanger

Stavanger originally grew rich from its fishing industry, though these days it’s Norway’s oil boom that is powering the city’s economic growth. In spite of this modern gold rush the historic centre of Stavanger retains its charm, and the spectacular Lysefjord is within easy reach of the city.

Cherbourg

An important naval base and major commercial port, Cherbourg is the gateway to the many attractions of Normandy, including the Bayeux Tapestry and the beaches where the D-Day landings took place. Cherbourg’s excellent Cité de la Mer maritime museum is also well worth a visit.
