From Barranquilla to Cartagena
AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia are new ships which launched in 2025, specifically designed to sail Colombia’s Magdalena River.
With just 30 spacious staterooms aboard AmaMagdalena and 32
aboard AmaMelodia, all with private balcony, the brand new ships
have been designed to maximise your views along the Magdalena
River. Onboard amenities include a Main Lounge, a fitness centre
with treatment rooms and a sun-deck whirlpool.
Bustling Barranquilla is the gateway to the Magdalena River, known for its famed Carnival and elaborate costumes, as well as a year-round balmy climate and delicious cuisine. The stylish El Prado district is home to the Museo Romántico which showcases treasures from past festivals and exhibits on famous Colombians.
Cartagena was founded by Spanish conquistadors in 1533, and the beautifully preserved centre is a real highlight of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. The walled old town, the Ciudad Amurallada, is a camera-friendly collection of cobbled streets and colourful, colonial-era buildings.
